Day 4: Goodbye Clutter!

I will not show more of the before pictures. I hate messy pictures. They are always so depressing.  I just take them to black mail the boyfriend to make me a special dinner because I've made such a difficult strong heavy work :) Just believe me: the picture above is after a lot of work. It's after taking things out. The room was really full. The bright side was to discover family heirlooms, beautiful pieces and some magical memories and stories. The downside: my back hurts. A lot. There were some bulkier furniture that had to travel to another place. But if it wasn't for my back injury (I've done it all by myself) I wouldn't be blogging the cure today.

To create an outbox specifically for this room we are curating. Put away anything you don't think it belongs to the room.

I've cleaned every piece before moving it away. Some looked beautiful around the house, other went to our business storage place. Most of the things in this room were special family pieces that were stored years ago but somehow the room became too full, closed for years and with the smell that only a room from an antique house full of antiques can have. Not good. There wasn't a day of the cure that I didn't clean A LOT.

At this point, I decided that I going to shop local. Translating: around the house or our previous house! So I made a Polyvore set with similar items to ones that I have. I enjoyed a lot using Polyvore instead of Pinterest for this task because in only one set, not a board full of pins, I can add and remove items. There were a couple of pieces that I have that I felt that don't go along well. Making choices on the computer. All this without moving my arms and furniture and pieces!

I shopped around the house and what I have in storage since my budget is $10, I found that that these pieces I have go along well :D "Workplace style cure" by tocta on Polyvore

I had to put the Portuguese ceramic floor in the background so I could see if the rest of the pieces would be a right match with it!

An then I had to read this to keep up the good work! :

And suddenly some space starts to appear...

And some old pieces began a new life:

bye, Rita
